Hot-shooting UNI drops Shockers
Northern Iowa’s Madison Weekly scored 19 points and hit three three-pointers in the third quarter of a 69-48 win over the Wichita State women on Sunday in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Rangie Bessard led Wichtiaa State (5-17, 2-9 MVC) with 19 points and 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season.
Sharnae Lamar added 11 points and four assists for Northern Iowa (13-9, 8-3). The Panthers led 54-31 after Weekly’s hot-shooting third quarter and hit 16 of 23 free throws for the game.
The Shockers return home Friday against Bradley and again Sunday against Loyola.
