Wichita State is No. 22 in the Associated Press college basketball poll and No. 25 in the USA Today coaches poll, returning to the national rankings for the first time since Nov. 30.

The Shockers (14-5) are on a nine-game win streak. They dropped out of the Associated Press and coaches polls on Nov. 30 with a 2-4 record.

In the AP poll, WSU moved from the third school out to No. 25 with 151 points, two ahead of No. 23 Oregon. Oklahoma is No. 1, followed by North Carolina, Iowa and Kansas.

Before Nov. 30, WSU spent a school-record 42 straight weeks in the AP poll.

In the coaches poll, WSU received 60 points and is 11 ahead of unranked Dayton. North Carolina is No. 1, followed by Oklahoma and Kansas.

VanVleet on watch list — Shockers guard Fred VanVleet is one of 20 players on the Oscar Robertson Trophy mid-season watch list released Monday.

VanVleet, a senior from Rockford, Ill., averages 12.5 points, 5.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds. WSU is 12-1 since he returned on Dec. 5 after missing four games with a strained left hamstring.

Kansas’ Wayne Selden, Duke’s Grayson Allen and Providence’s Kris Dunn are also on the list.

The United States Basketball Writers Association will present the award on April 11.
