Wichita State’s Gregg Marshall starts fast in charity challenge voting
Wichita State men’s basketball coach Gregg Marshall is again one of the leaders in the Infiniti Coaches’ Charity Challenge.
Marshall finished in the top four last season and presented a check for $15,000 to the Wichita Children’s Home. He is representing that charity again in 2015. Fans can vote for their favorite coach or charity at www.espn.com/infiniti. The contest starts with 48 coaches and runs for 10 weeks. The first round of voting ends Jan. 25.
Each coach earns at least $1,000 and the winning coach earns $100,000.
Iowa State’s Fred Hoiberg is in first place, followed by Purdue’s Matt Painter, Maryland’s Mark Turgeon and Marshall.
The Wichita Children’s Home offers emergency temporary housing for children in the Wichita area. For more information, visit www.wch.org.
Kansas coach Bill Self is competing for the Assists Foundation while Kansas State’s Bruce Weber is representing Coaches vs. Cancer.
