MVC honors Wichita State’s Alex Harden
Wichita State senior Alex Harden earned Missouri Valley Conference women’s basketball player of the week honors.
Harden, a guard from Springfield, Ill., averaged 20.5 points, 7.5 steals and 4.5 assists in wins over Indiana State and Evansville. She tied WSU’s record with 11 steals against Indiana State on Friday, a matchup of the teams who shared the MVC title in 2014.
Harden won the award for the second time this season and the fifth time in her career. She is the third Shocker to win it this season, joining Alie Decker (Dec. 22) and Jamillah Bonner (Dec. 31).
The Shockers (11-3, 2-0 MVC) play at Missouri State (4-9, 1-1) on Friday.
