WSU women drop another in MVC play

The Wichita State women dropped their second straight game in Missouri Valley Conference play with a 70-49 loss to Illinois State on Sunday in Normal, Ill.

WSU (3-10, 0-2) was led by 12 points from TaQuandra Mike, while Rangie Bessard added 11 points. Katrina Beck led ISU (3-10, 1-1) with 17 points, but was followed closely by Octavia Crump’s 16 points and Viria Livingston’s 15 points.

WSU opened the game on a 7-0 run, but ISU answered back with a 12-2 run and never trailed again.

The Shockers return to action with back-to-back home games on Friday against Northern Iowa and Sunday against Drake.
