Wichita State’s Diamond Lockhart honored as MVC’s top women’s basketball newcomer
Wichita State sophomore guard Diamond Lockhart earned Missouri Valley Conference newcomer of the week honors for women’s basketball.
Lockhart, from Red Oak, Texas, scored a career-high 21 points in Friday’s 66-62 loss to Southeast Missouri State at Koch Arena. She played 45 minutes in the overtime game and made 8 of 14 shots and grabbed four rebounds.
WSU (1-5) plays No. 8 Tennessee (5-1) on Friday at Koch Arena.
Missouri State’s Tyonna Snow was named player of the week.
