Arkansas State routs Shockers

Arkansas State handed the Wichita State women’s basketball team its third straight loss to open the season, defeating the Shockers 67-40 on Saturday in Jonesboro, Ark.

WSU has lost all three of its games by at least 20 points.

Arkansas State, picked to win the Sun Belt, was led by 12 points each from Aundrea Gamble and Amanda Lawson. Arkansas State led 28-18 at halftime.

No WSU player scored in double figures. The Shockers, who were only able to suit up eight players, were led by eight points each from Jaleesa Chapel and Brittany Martin.

WSU returns to action on Friday against Richmond in Miami in the Florida International Thanksgiving Classic.
