Wichita State moved up one spot to No. 9 in Monday’s Associated Press top 25 college basketball poll.

The Shockers (1-0) are ranked in the AP poll for a 41st consecutive week, 18 of those in the top 10. It is the program’s longest streak of poll appearances.

Kansas (1-0) remains No. 4.

WSU and No. 10 Gonzaga changed positions, the only moves in the top 10. Gonzaga’s opening game against Pittburgh was canceled because of slippery floor conditions in Japan. WSU has 1,043 points, three more than the Zags.

No. 1 North Carolina received 37 first-place votes to stay in the top spot, followed by Kentucky and Maryland.
