Several familiar faces and foes will join Wichita State in the 2017 Maui Invitational.

The tournament revealed the rest of the eight-team field on Thursday — California, LSU, Marquette, Michigan, Notre Dame, VCU and host Chaminade.

The tournament takes place Nov. 20-22, 2017 at the Lahaina Civic Center. WSU first played in the Maui Invitational in 2010, losing to eventual national champion Connecticut and defeating Chaminade and Virginia.

California is coached by former Missouri State and Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin. The Shockers lost to Notre Dame in last season’s NCAA Tournament and could face the Irish later this month in the Advocare Invitational in Orlando, Fla. VCU and WSU played in the 2011 BracketBusters, the 2012 NCAA Tournament and early in the 2012-13 season in the BracketBusters return game.

Next season, the Shockers will play in the Battle 4 Atlantis. According to several reports, Saint John’s, VCU, Michigan State, Florida Gulf Coast and Louisville are also in the field.
