Wichita State volleyball sweeps Missouri State

Wichita State avenged its lone Missouri Valley Conference loss of the year with a sweep at Missouri State on Saturday.

The Shockers (19-6, 10-1 MVC) handed the Bears their fourth loss in the past six matches, 25-14, 25-20, 25-21 at Hammons Student Center. Missouri State (15-9, 6-5) defeated WSU 3-1 on Oct. 2 at Koch Arena.

Katie Reilly led WSU with 13 kills and compiled a 346 attack percentage. Abbie Lehman added 11 kills and hit .400. Jody Larson had five kills and a team-leading 18 digs. Emily Hiebert recorded 27 assists for WSU, which hit .331.

Lynsey Wright led MSU with seven kills. Lily Johnson, who had 20 kills in the first meeting, had six on Saturday. MSU committed 15 attack errors and seven service errors. It hit .161.

WSU, winners of eight straight, plays at Southern Illinois on Monday. The Salukis (18-7, 9-3) took over second place in the MVC with a 3-2 win at Loyola on Friday. They defeated Bradley 3-1 on Saturday.
