Wichita State women’s defense stops Clemson in 63-48 victory
Wichita State’s defense held Clemson to 13 points in the first 19 minutes and cruised to a 63-48 victory during Saturday’s final game of the Paradise Jam tournament in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
The Shockers (4-2) were 2-1 in the tournament.
Wichita State led from the first basket Saturday and got 14 points each from Michaela Dapprich and Alie Decker, as well as 13 points from Jamillah Bonner.
Clemson (3-4), 0-3 in the tournament, was stuck on seven points for five minutes in the first half. WSU extended the lead to 19 during that stretch on a Decker three-pointer.
Wichita State returns home to host Arkansas-Pine Bluff at noon Friday in Koch Arena.
