Northern Iowa beat Wichita State 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-23, 25-22) on Saturday night in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Junior Ashlyn Driskill tied her career high with 20 kills, and junior MaryAshton Floyd tied her career high with 16 kills and hit .452. Northern Iowa (16-8, 10-2 MVC) maintained its hold on second place in the Missouri Valley standings. WSU (15-8, 9-4), slipped to fourth place.
The Shockers built a 17-12 lead in the first set, but were unable to close out the set as Northern Iowa scored 11 of the final 13 points.
The Panthers took an early lead in the second set 7-4, but WSU went on a 14-6 run to assume control. UNI fought to 24-22 before a kill by Floyd gave the Shockers the set.

Northern Iowa controlled the third set from the start. WSU managed to get within 19-18 but never held a lead.
A similar scenario developed in the fourth set. Consecutive kills by Abbie Lehman got WSU to 22-20, but UNI won the next two points. Consecutive kills by Floyd again pulled the Shockers within two points before UNI ended the match.
