Texas A&M sweeps Wichita State volleyball
Texas A&M swept Wichita State’s volleyball team on Saturday, holding the Shockers to their worst offensive output of the season.
WSU (3-3) lost 25-12, 26-16, 25-12 in its final match of the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station. The Shockers recorded 27 kills and 19 errors to compile a .091 attack percentage, their lowest of the season. The Aggies outblocked WSU 17-2.
Katie Reilly led WSU with nine kills and a .471 attack percentage. Katy Dudzinski and Abbie Lehman both added seven kills, although the Aggies held Lehman to a .105 attack percentage. Settter Emily Hiebert had 22 assists and WSU briefly played a 6-2 formation with Regan Peare adding three assists.
Shelby Sullivan led Texas A&M with 14 kills. The Aggies recorded 45 kills and six errors on 83 swings for a .470 attack percentage, best by a WSU opponent this season.
WSU opens its home schedule on Thursday with matches against South Dakota State and Northern Illinois in the Shocker Volleyball Classic.
