Wichita State pitcher Connor Lungwitz undergoes shoulder surgery
Wichita State freshman pitcher Connor Lungwitz underwent shoulder surgery on Thursday and will not participate in fall practices, he said on Twitter.
Lungwitz, a right-hander from Maize, said the operation cleared out tissue in his shoulder and termed it a minor procedure. He expects to begin throwing in 4 to 6 weeks.
He went 6-1 with a 0.97 ERA as a senior with 74 strikeouts and 11 walks in 65 innings. Detroit drafted him in the 35th round in June.
