After 4-game absence, Wichita State guard Justin Hill to return from injury at FAU

After missing the last four games due to injury, Wichita State senior point guard Justin Hill is active for Thursday’s game at Florida Atlantic and will play for the Shockers.

Hill, who started 20 of the first 21 games of the season, has been nursing a sore toe since a 58-54 loss to North Texas on Jan. 29. He averages a team-high 30.9 minutes and 3.4 assists and is the team’s third leading scorer at 13.3 points.

It remains to be seen how Paul Mills works Hill back in the rotation, but the WSU head coach said earlier this week that he doesn’t anticipate changing the starting lineup. After a 1-7 start in American Athletic Conference play, the Shockers have ripped off a 4-game winning streak without Hill.

In Hill’s absence, senior Bijan Cortes has handled the bulk of the point guard duties, but Mills has also used Xavier Bell and Harlond Beverly to handle the ball late in games.

Hill had appeared in 147 of 152 possible games before missing the last four games, which has been unprecedented for his 5-year collegiate career.
