Former Shocker Austin Bahner finishes eighth in Pan Am decathlon
Former Wichita State athlete Austin Bahner finished eighth in the decathlon in the Pan Am Games in Toronto.
Bahner, from Heights, finished with 7,451 points and was the top American in the field. Canada’s Damian Warner won with 8,659 points.
On Thursday, Bahner finished fourth in the pole vault with a height of 15 feet, 1 inch. He finished sixth in the 1,500 meters (4:43.53) and the 100-meter hurdles (15.74). He finished 10th in the discus (138-11) and javelin (179-4 1/4).
