Conference games for 2022-23 schedule picked by AAC for Wichita State basketball
The Wichita State men’s basketball team learned its opponents and game locations on Thursday when the American Athletic Conference released its pairings for the 2022-23 schedule.
In an 18-game league schedule, each AAC team will play eight home-and-away series, a home-only series and an away-only series. For the Shockers, they will only play Cincinnati at home and only travel to Temple in the 2022-23 season.
That means WSU will have home-and-away dates against East Carolina, Houston, Memphis, South Florida, SMU, Tulane, Tulsa and UCF. Exact dates, tip times and television information will be released by the conference in mid-September.
Fans interested in purchasing tickets can order them from the Shocker ticket office by calling 316-978-3267.
This will be the swan song season for Cincinnati, Houston and UCF, which will leave the American Athletic Conference for the Big 12 next summer. WSU has historical ties to both Cincinnati and Houston, which used to be members of the Missouri Valley Conference.
Wichita State is also expected to release its complete schedule, with two or three non-conference games added to what is publicly known to date, on the same day the AAC releases the conference schedule in mid-September.
