Wichita State basketball schedule includes Utah, UNLV, Tulsa
Wichita State opens the men’s basketball regular season on Nov. 13 against Charleston Southern at Koch Arena.
WSU released its nonconference schedule on Wednesday, waiting on TV information and game times to be decided in late summer or early fall. Highlights include a Dec. 9 game against UNLV at Koch Arena, a Dec. 12 rematch against Utah at Intrust Bank Arena and a late November trip to Orlando for the Advocare Classic.
The Shockers play NCAA Division II Hawaii Pacific in an exhibition on Nov. 7. The Sharks are coached by former Northwest High coach Darren Vorderbruegge.
WSU will continue series against former Missouri Valley Conference rivals with games at Tulsa (Nov. 17) and Saint Louis (Dec. 5). Former MVC member New Mexico State visits Koch Arena on Dec. 28.
The Advocare Classic is Nov. 26, 27and 29 and will be televised on an ESPN network. The field includes Alabama, Dayton, Iowa, Monmouth, Xavier, Notre Dame and Southern Cal. Matchups will be announced in August.
WSU’s game against UNLV will be televised by an ESPN network and the game against Utah is a likely choice for a spot on an ESPN network.
