Wichita State’s Reilly, Heinen earn MVC’s top academic honor
Wichita State volleyball player Katie Reilly and golfer Alec Heinen earned the Missouri Valley Conference’s President Council’s Academic Award, the MVC’s top academic honor.
Athletes must carry a 3.8 grade-point average and be within 18 hours of graduation to be considered for the award, of which 69 qualified in the MVC. Reilly is a senior from Cypress, Texas and Heinen is a senior from Edmond, Okla.
Sixty-three WSU athletes made the Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award, which requires a cumulative 3.2 GPA and a 3.5 GPA in the previous two semesters.
