Former Wichita State shortstop Dusty Coleman will play for the United States in the Pan Am Games in July.

Coleman is hitting .301 with five home runs for the Omaha Storm Chasers, the Triple-A affiliate for the Kansas City Royals. He joins Royals minor-leaguers Buddy Baumann, who pitched for Missouri State, pitcher Casey Coleman and first baseman Casey Kotchman on the Pan Am team.

The Pan Am Games begin July 10 in Ajax, near Toronto. The U.S. team will train for four days in Cary, N.C. before leaving for Canada. Jim Tracy is the manager.

Coleman played for the Shockers in 2007 and 2008 and finished his career with a .291 batting average 10 home runs and 90 RBI. Oakland drafted him in the 28th round of the 2008 draft. He has reached Triple-A three times in his career.
