The new Wichita State basketball uniforms are here and changes have been made
The new Under Armour uniforms for the 2021-22 season arrived just in time for the Wichita State men’s basketball team on Friday, just three days before the opening exhibition game at Koch Arena.
WSU players took to social media on Friday afternoon to show off their new threads with plenty of notable differences.
The biggest changes came to the home white uniforms, which will go from displaying “Wichita State” on the front to just “Shockers.” The yellow trim surrounding the black lettering and numbering is also gone, as the letters and numbers on the front are just a solid black now.
Changes were also made in the trim, as black and yellow trim now highlight the arm sleeves and neck line. The trim is also different on the shorts, as a thick yellow line outlined in black now goes up the side of the shorts with the waist line also sporting a thick yellow line outlined in black.
Fewer changes were made to the black road uniforms, which still will display “Wichita State” on the front of the jerseys. The white trim on the yellow numbering and lettering is gone, replaced by just solid yellow on the front of the uniforms. A new yellow trim is included on the neck line and the black shorts have replaced the WuShock logo on the side with the flying W logo.
Last season WSU frequently wore its yellow alternative uniforms, but pictures on Friday did not include yellow uniforms. It is unclear if the Shockers will have an alternative this season or if they will play solely in white and black this season.
WSU opens up the season on Monday with an exhibition game against Missouri Southern State at Koch Arena.
