Wichita State volleyball picks up another road win
Wichita State won its third consecutive match, beating Loyola 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-22) on Saturday night in Chicago.
Loyola led 5-1 in the opening set but WSU (9-5, 3-1 MVC) battled back and tied the score 12-12. The Shockers never led by more than two points until going ahead 22-19 on a Loyola error.
Loyola went up 7-3 in the second set and stretched the advantage to 17-12. WSU responded with an 11-4 run to take the lead, and ended the set with a kill by Katie Reilly.
WSU controlled the third set from the start, going ahead 15-9. Three straight kills by Abbie Lehman helped WSU widen the gap to 24-15, but Loyola scored seven straight points before another kill by Lehman ended the match.
Lehman finished with 12 kills and a .500 attack percentage, and also had four blocks. Reilly had nine kills and MaryAshton Floyd had eight kills and two service aces. Emily Hiebert finished with 36 assists.
