Women’s relay makes history for Wichita State track
Wichita State’s 400-meter relay team qualified for the NCAA Championships, the first women’s relay in school history to qualify for the national outdoor meet.
Shanice Andrews, Nikki Larch-Miller, Taylor Larch-Miller and Deja Young finished fourth in the NCAA West Preliminary with a time of 44.30 seconds on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
Nikki Larch-Miller also qualified in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.30 seconds to finish eighth. She previously qualified in the heptathlon.
Hammer thrower Weston Cottrell qualified on Friday by finishing fifth with a throw of 215 feet, 2 inches, a personal-best.
The NCAA Championships are June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.
