Former Wichita State star Fred VanVleet is returning to Wichita next weekend to host a pair of basketball camps for kids.

The first camp will be on Saturday, July 21 at the Farha Center at the South YMCA from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The second camp will be on Sunday, July 22 at the Farha Center at the Andover YMCA from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

For $100, kids ages 7-18 will receive “world-class training,” lunch, a T-shirt and a picture with VanVleet. For those interested, contact YMCA senior director Catherine Seals at 316-719-7702 or catherine.seals@ymcawichita.org.

VanVleet is fresh off his most successful season in the NBA. He was a finalist for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award. The season earned VanVleet a two-year, $18 million contract earlier this month from the Toronto Raptors.

Former Shocker Fred VanVleet, now a member of the Toronto Raptors, was back in Koch Arena on Saturday, along with former teammates Ron Baker and Evan Wessel. Baker is also a rookie in the NBA this year. (Feb. 18, 2017)
