Wichita State slipped to eighth place after the second round of the NCAA San Diego Regional men’s golf tournament.
The Shockers shot 298 in the second round at the par-72 The Farms Golf Club for a 36-hole total of 590. Oklahoma shot 275 and with a 559 total leads the regional by 22 strokes over Arizona State. The top five teams advance to the national tournament. Georgia is fith, five shots ahead of WSU.
Sophomore Grant Bennett is tied for sixth after shooting a 1-over par 73 in the second round, leaving him 2-under for the tournament. Senior Louis Cohen Boyer is tied for 19th at 146 after shooting a 2-over 74.
Freshman Gage Ihrig (151) is tied for 48th, junior Alec Heinen (257) is tied for 67th and freshman Conrad Walcher (161) is tied for 72nd.
