Wichita State builds 11-stroke lead at MVC Championships
Wichita State's women'sgolf team remained in first place in the Missouri Valley Conference Championships with a 612 after shooting a second-round 311 in Burlington, Iowa.
WSU, the defending champion, leads Missouri State by 11 shots entering Tuesday's final round.
WSU's Alejandra Arellano shot a second-round 74 and remains in the first with a 2-over-par 146. She leads Illinois State's Brianna Cooper by five shots. WSU's Maria Alejandra Villalobos shot a second-round 74 and is in a two-way tie for fourth with a 154. Bryce Schroeder (156) is in sixth place and Taryn Torgerson (157) is tied for eighth.
