Wichita State drops two spots to No. 8 in latest AP poll
Pollsters across the country didn’t penalize Wichita State much for its championship-game loss to Notre Dame last week in the Maui Invitational.
The Shockers dropped just two spots to No. 8 in the latest Associated Press poll released on Monday after suffering their first loss of the season in a 67-66 defeat to Notre Dame.
Duke remained No. 1, while Kansas, Michigan State, and Villanova all moved up one spot to No. 2, 3, and 4, respectively. Notre Dame moved up eight spots following the victory over WSU to No. 5.
Cincinnati (6-0) is ranked No. 11 and remains the only other team ranked from the American Athletic Conference.
No. 8 Wichita State (4-1) will play at No. 16 Baylor (5-0) on Saturday in Waco. Game time is set for 1 p.m. with the game broadcast on ESPNU.
