Wichita State will play UNLV on Dec. 2 at Koch Arena in the renewal of the Mountain West/Missouri Valley Challenge.

All 10 Missouri Valley Conference schools and 10 of the 11 basketball-playing Mountain West schools will meet, with each conference hosting five games, over the next four seasons. Matchups will be based on the projected strength of both teams and the schedule will start fresh each season, with no return games.

The series originally ran from 2009-12. WSU went 3-1 in the series, losing at San Diego State and defeating TCU, UNLV and Air Force. The Mountain West went 22-13 by taking an 8-1 edge in 2010, tying 4-4 in 2011 and winning 6-3 in 2012. The Valley went 5-4 in 2009.

UNLV went 18-15 last season, 8-10 in the MWC to finish seventh. WSU went 30-5 and won its second consecutive MVC title.

In 2015, games will be played from mid-November to late December. In future seasons, games will be played in a nine-day window after Thanksgiving.

TV rights for the games will be held by the home team’s conference.
