WSU volleyball wins two matches to start season
Wichita State swept a pair of matches to open the season, beating Lipscomb 28-26, 25-13, 27-25 and East Tennessee State 25-17, 25-18, 25-21 in Nashville, Tenn.
Tabitha Brown had 11 kills, Mikaela Raudsepp had 10 kills and WSU hit .337 in the win over Lipscomb. Setter Emily Hiebert had 32 assists and eight blocks. Redshirt freshman Emma Wright added six blocks and had 7 kills on 13 swings, a .538 percentage.
Brown led WSU with 14 kills against ETSU, and Abbie Lehman added 10 kills and five blocks. Libero Giorgia Civita had 22 digs.
WSU plays Belmont at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
