Wichita State senior Tekele Cotton will compete in the Slam Dunk Championship at the Final Four in Indianapolis on Thursday.

Cotton is the third Shocker to participate, joining David Kyles (2012) and Cleanthony Early (2014).

The contest begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Butler’s Hinkle Fieldhouse. ESPN will broadcast the dunk contest and three-point championships for men’s and women’s players.

WSU’s Ron Baker and Fred VanVleet are among 25 finalists for the CollegeInsider.com Lute Olson Award for the national Player of the Year. The winner will be announced April 3 in Indianapolis.

The award is limited to players who spent at least two seasons in college. The 25 finalists are considered members of the Lute Olson All-America team.

Northern Iowa’s Seth Tuttle and Perry Ellis of Kansas are also on the list.
