Former Kansas Jayhawk basketball star Perry Ellis signed with the Sydney Kings of Australia’s National Basketball League, according to ESPN.

Ellis played at Heights and was a two-time All-Big 12 pick at KU. He recently worked out in the D-League Elite Mini Camp.

“His pedigree, versatility and basketball IQ will be key attributes that will assist us in strongly moving this program forward,” Kings coach Andrew Gaze told ESPN.

Ellis, a 6-foot-7 forward, played for the Greensboro Swarm in the NBA Development League last season. He averaged 9.7 points and 4.7 rebounds in 50 games, 12 of them starts.

Ellis was not drafted after his senior season at Kansas. He was waived by the Charlotte Hornets in October and went to Greensboro.
