Shocker women defeat Sycamores
The Wichita State women overcame an eight-point deficit in the second half and beat Indiana State 62-54 on Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind., in the final game of the regular season.
The Sycamores led 44-36 with 13:23 left in the second half after Stephanie Wittman’s basket, but WSU answered with a 12-0 run capped by a three-pointer by Alie Decker and a jumper by Alex Harden, and the Shockers never trailed again.
Harden led the Shockers with 17 points, topping four WSU players in double figures.
Wichita State (26-4, 17-1 MVC) is the top seed in the MVC Tournament and will play at noon Friday against the winner of the Bradley-Loyola play-in game.
