Wichita State’s Alex Harden wins MVC weekly honor for fifth time this season
Wichita State senior Alex Harden earned Missouri Valley Conference women’s basketball player of the week honors for the second straight week on Monday.
Harden, a guard from Springfield, Ill., averaged 21 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 3.5 assists in wins at Illinois State and Southern Illinois. She made 19 of 30 shots in the two games.
Harden, who scored 25 points against SIU, won the honor for the fifth time this season. and the eighth time in her career. She is tied with former Drake player Jill Martin in sixth place for the most weekly honors. Former Missouri State guard Jackie Stile is atop the list with 18.
For the season, Harden averages 16.5 points and 6.1 rebounds.
