WSU bowler honored

Wichita State junior Jazreel Tan was named female Amateur Bowler of the Year by the Bowling Writers Association of America.

Tan, from Singapore, compiled a 213 average, tops among female college bowlers. Tan also won the Intercollegiate Singles Championship qualifier, in March, and is one of 16 bowler who will compete in the ISC Championhips in Lincoln, Neb., beginning Tuesday.

The Intercollegiate Team Championships begin Wednesday.
