Wichita State volleyball cruises past Samford in three

Wichita State’s volleyball team had little difficulty with Samford on Sunday, winning 25-19, 25-16, 25-15 in Fort Collins, Colo.

The Shockers (5-3) hit .429 and took comfortable leads in each set. WSU had a 10-4 lead in the first set, then held off Samford’s 6-0 run that pulled the set to within 20-18. The Shockers won five of the six final points to take the set.

WSU had a 10-0 run to cruise in the second set, and a 6-0 run midway through the third set.

Abbie Lehman led WSU with 11 kills, with Jody Larson adding 10.

WSU next plays Friday against Texas Tech in San Antonio.
