Wichita State’s women’s basketball kicks off Valley play with tough three-game stretch
Wichita State women’s basketball team opens Missouri Valley Conference play with games against the top three finishers from last season.
Drake, which tied for second place with Missouri State, comes to Koch Arena on Dec. 30 to start the 18-game MVC schedule. Defending MVC champion Northern Iowa follows on Jan. 1.
WSU travels to Missouri State, which won the MVC Tournament, on Jan. 6.
The Shockers, who finished eighth last season with a 5-13 MVC record, 8-22 overall, end MVC play with four of their final six on the road.
WSU plays exhibition games against Newman (Nov. 2) and Cameron (Nov. 6) before opening the season against Creighton on Nov. 13.
Times for remaining games will be announced when TV games are selected, likely in early October.
