Baker leads Jets past Dallas Baptist

Junior guard Reggie Baker’s big game lifted Newman to an 88-75 win over Dallas Baptist on Monday afternoon in Wichita.

Baker had 24 points and 17 rebounds for Newman (8-6, 4-4 Heartland Conference), the most rebounds in a single game for the Jets since moving to NCAA Division II. Baker grabbed 14 of his rebounds in the second half as Newman protected a 41-33 halftime lead.

James Pegues added 18 points for Newman, while Jeremy Espinoza chipped in with 16 points and eight rebounds.
