Tabor, Baker fall in NAIA quarterfinal games

Tabor was held to 236 yards and committed four turnovers in a 51-6 loss to Morningside College in an NAIA football quarterfinal game Saturday in Sioux City, Iowa.

Morningside (12-1) scored all of its points before Tabor scored, losing the shutout with 2:12 remaining on Ontreveon Cooper’s 5-yard run. Tabor, the KCAC champion, ended the season 11-2.

Southern Oregon 24, Baker 19 – Host Baker’s season ended at 11-2 after a quarterfinal loss to the defending national champion.

Southern Oregon (10-2) took a 24-13 on a field goal to start the fourth quarter, then its defense clamped down on Baker, allowing one first down over the Wildcats’ next two drives as Baker tried to rally. Logan Brettell’s 6-yard touchdown with 2:55 got Baker within five points, but the Wildcats couldn’t recover the onside kick.
