Hutchinson slams Hudson Valley in Salt City Bowl

Hutchinson Community College capped off its best season in school history with a 52-7 win over No. 19 Hudson Valley on Saturday in the Salt City Bowl in Hutchinson.

The fourth-ranked Blue Dragons finished the season 11-1 after winning the Jayhawk Conference for the first time since 1995.

Hutchinson freshman quarterback Kylen Blinn was the Salt City Bowl’s offensive MVP in his first start, throwing for 149 yards and four touchdowns. Sophomore defensive end and Arkansas commit Jeremiah Ledbetter was the defensive MVP with 10 tackles and three sacks.

Heart of Texas Bowl — Trinity Valley capped off an undefeated season with a 27-24 win over Coffeyville in Copperas Cove, Texas. Trinity Valley kicker Leo Peralta kicked a 21-yard field goal with 36 seconds left for the win and the final touch on a 12-0 season.

Peralta, named the game’s MVP, became the NJCAA’s record holder for extra points in a season, finishing 95 of 96 and Trinity Valley broke the NJCAA record for most offensive yards in as eason with 7,777. The Red Ravens finished the season 9-3.
