Saturday’s junior college bowl games

Salt City Bowl

No. 19 Hudson Valley (8-1) vs. No. 4 Hutchinson (10-1), 1 p.m. — The Blue Dragons, KJCCC champions for the first time since 1995, are in their own bowl for the sixth straight season, and they’re 5-0 so far. This year should continue that streak with an overmatched opponent in Hudson Valley, which is playing in only its third bowl game and first since 2003.

Hudson Valley lost to Navy Prep 27-0 in its regular-season finale.

Bishop Carroll product Bryce Harvey is tied with Anthony Autry for Hutchinson’s team lead with 35 receptions.

Heart of Texas Bowl

No. 3 Trinity Valley (11-0) vs. No. 10 Coffeyville (9-2) — Coffeyville coach Aaron Flores went from being on the hot seat before the season to being one of the hottest coaches in NJCAA come bowl time. The result is the Red Ravens in the premiere bowl game outside of the NJCAA championship and facing a team that, most years, would’ve earned a spot in the title game.

Trinity Valley is almost impossible to stop offensively — the Cardinals average 658.1 yards of total offense and are 89 yards short of breaking the NJCAA record set by East Mississippi last season.
