Binn leads Hutch to victory
Kylen Binn threw three touchdown passes to lead No. 4 Hutchinson to a 37-6 win over Fort Scott on Saturday night in Fort Scott in Hutchinson’s season opener. Hutchinson’s defense racked up seven sacks in the win.
The victory sets up a top 10 showdown against Butler next Saturday in Hutchinson.
In other Jayhawk action, Dodge City defeated Garden City 40-35 and Iowa Central defeated Independence 37-34 in five overtimes.

No. 22 Northwestern 9, No. 12 Tabor 7 — Visiting Northwestern prevailed in the lone battle between ranked teams in the KCAC-GPAC series in Hillsboro, although Tabor’s defense did not allow a touchdown.
Northwestern scored its points on three field goals from Julian Dittman in the first half. Tabor scored its only points on a 1-yard touchdown run by D’Marco Smith in the third quarter. Tabor was held to 180 rushing yards after putting up 327 last week.
