Eastern Florida State leads juco golf

Michael DeMorat of Eastern Florida State shot 5-under 67 Wednesday and took a two-shot lead at the halfway point of the NJCAA Division I men’s golf tournament at Sand Creek Station in Newton.

DeMorat is at 139 after 36 holes, two strokes ahead of Cory Donnell of McLennan. First round leader Chase Coble of Hutchinson shot 76 and is tied for sixth, six shots off the lead.

Indian Hills leads the team standings with a 581 total, three strokes ahead of Eastern Florida State.

The tournament runs through Friday.
