Collegiate coach Destiny Clark named Newman women’s volleyball coach

Newman University named Destiny Clark its women’s volleyball coach Tuesday. Clark has been Collegiate High’s girls volleyball coach and girls strength and conditioning coach the past two seasons.

Clark was the Spartans’ assistant coach for two seasons before becoming coach in 2013. She has also been a personal trainer, a certified strength coach and a club volleyball coach.

Clark played collegiately at Arkansas.

“I am super excited to have this opportunity to be the head coach at Newman University,” Clark said in a statement. “I feel my knowledge of the game and passion for the sport will take an already great program and take it to the next level.”

Clark replaces Natalie Rawson, who resigned in March after two seasons to become coach at Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas. Rawson was 30-26, combining for the Jets’ most successful NCAA Division II seasons.
