KU fans praised nationally for not storming the court after Jayhawks beat Arizona

Former KU basketball players were glued to their television (or possibly phone or computer) for the Jayhawks’ Big Monday game, and they loved what they saw.

Kansas upset No. 1 Arizona 82-78 before a raucous crowd at Allen Fieldhouse.

“Got to watch this game with my teammates here in Japan!” Mitch Lightfoot wrote on X. “It was at this moment when I told them ‘yeah, I got to play there!’ Damn proud of it! ROCK CHALK BABY!”

Wayne Simien wrote: “Down goes #1. No ‘court storm’ necessary..…this is KANSAS🔴🔵🏀”

Simien’s comment was in response to The Great Court Storming Debate of 2026 this past weekend. North Carolina fans rushed the court after a stunning comeback win over archrival Duke.

Blue Devils coach Jon Scheyer said a staff member was punched during the on-court fracas.

But nothing like that happened in Lawrence, and fans shared their thoughts about KU students not rushing the court. Locally, there was pride about Jayhawks supporters and nationally, observers noted the scene at Allen Fieldhouse.

Here is some of what was being said on X.
