Kansas Jayhawks unranked in Associated Press Top 25 for first time since 2021

The Kansas men’s basketball team is unranked in the Associated Press Top 25 poll for the first time since the 2020-21 season. Kansas was third in the “others receiving votes” category with 25 votes.

The Jayhawks went 1-1 last week while ranked No. 23 in the country.

Notably, KU lost 91-57 to BYU on Tuesday in Provo, Utah. The Jayhawks also dominated Oklahoma State in a 32-point win Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse.

The preseason No. 1-ranked Jayhawks were last left out of the AP Top 25 on Feb. 8, 2021. That was for one week only. Kansas was ranked No. 24 on Feb. 15, seven days later.

KU remained ranked for 80 straight weeks. The Jayhawks had been ranked 311 of the last 312 polls dating to Feb. 2, 2009.

Meanwhile, the Missouri Tigers at 20-7 are ranked No. 14 this week. The Tigers improved one slot from a week ago.

KU has remaining games vs. Colorado (10 p.m. Monday), Arizona, Texas Tech and Houston in the regular season.
