KU Jayhawks’ KJ Adams returns from injury ... but point guard Dajuan Harris is out
Kansas senior men’s basketball forward KJ Adams, who has missed the last three games because of a separated shoulder suffered in the KU-Iowa State game on Jan. 15, practiced on Monday, coach Bill Self said before Tuesday’s KU-UCF game at Allen Fieldhouse.
Self said doctors had cleared Adams for full activity and he could try to play versus the Knights. Adams was on the court warming up before the game.
That was the good news for the Jayhawks, who also appeared to be down a player on Tuesday: point guard Dajuan Harris.
“(Adams) is going to try to play. He practiced yesterday, so he’ll play limited,” Self told radio announcer Greg Gurley pregame. “He may come out there and do a little bit. We’re going to try not to play him a lot. A lot depends on the situation, but he got the clearance from the doctors to be out there.”
Harris, though, was set to miss the game because of an ankle injury, KU announced.
Harris, who had started 98 consecutive games, tweaked an ankle at practice on Monday, a KU official said. Rylan Griffen moved into the starting lineup.
