Elite high school forward from Houston reveals dates for Kansas basketball visit
Sebastian Williams-Adams, a 6-foot-7, 225-pound senior forward from St. John’s School in Houston, Texas, will make an official men’s basketball recruiting visit to Kansas on Sept. 13-15, he announced on social media site X.
Williams-Adams told 247Sports.com he also will visit Texas A&M (Aug. 30-Sept. 1), Auburn (Sept. 6-8), Purdue (Sept. 20-22), SMU (Sept. 27-19) and Oklahoma State (Oct. 4-6). He’ll visit Baylor at a yet-to-be determined date.
He’s mentioned Texas, Houston, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Alabama, Michigan and Tennessee as schools on his list in the past.
Williams-Adams is ranked No. 33 in the recruiting class of 2025 by Rivals.com and 247Sports.com and No. 42 by ESPN.com.
He averaged 21.1 points, 10 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game his junior season at St. John’s School. His team went 26-7 and placed third in the Texas state tournament. He made an unofficial visit to KU for the Yale-KU game last December in Allen Fieldhouse.
“Williams-Adams is an athletic forward that can get to the rim and is a force in transition with his length. He is still developing his perimeter shooting, connecting at a career-high 34% clip on 110 attempts as a junior at St. John’s last season,” wrote Dub Jellison of Rivals. “Defensively, he can truly guard four positions effectively, having been matched up with opposing 5s as well.”
Noted Andrew Miller of hookemheadlines.com: “Williams-Adams is one of the most athletic and potent prospects at his position group for the 2025 class. Williams-Adams can score with his back to the basket, drive to the rim, and is working on his shooting ability from mid-range and beyond the arc. The length, verticality, and strength Williams-Adams brings make him a legitimate post presence defending and on the boards. He also gets out and runs well in transition and can be a lob threat around the basket.”
After his visit to KU for the Yale game, Williams-Adams told jayhawkslant.com: “It was very nice meeting (coach Bill Self). He set the expectations that they have at Kansas. The thing that stood out to me is the love for the players the fans have. Even on a Friday, when it was super cold, they were still showing up and packing the stands for a game like Yale.”
No. 3-rated prospect to switch schools in 2024-25
Darryn Peterson, the consensus No. 3-ranked player in the recruiting class of 2025, who is considering KU, K-State and six other colleges, has decided to play for either Overtime Elite or Prolific Prep during the 2024-25 season. He will announce for one of the two on Monday.
Overtime Elite is a basketball league for 16-to-20 year-olds in Atlanta. OE athletes have the option of accepting a scholarship instead of a salary to retain collegiate eligibility.
Peterson, a 6-foot-5, 195-pound combo guard, attended Huntington Prep in West Virginia during the 2023-24 season. He has a list of KU, K-State, Ohio State, Kentucky, Louisville, USC, Washington and Arizona State.
A native of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio Peterson is ranked No. 3 in the recruiting class of 2025 according to ESPN.com, Rivals.com and 247Sports.com.
