KU will play UNC, Duke in basketball: Highlights of 2024-25 nonconference schedule
A matchup against fellow blue blood North Carolina at Allen Fieldhouse, Border War battle with Missouri in Columbia and Thanksgiving-week excursion to Las Vegas highlight the nonconference portion of the Kansas Jayhawks’ 2024-25 men’s basketball schedule.
The Jayhawks open the season on Monday, Nov. 4, against Howard. The matchup will mark the second consecutive season that KU begins the year hosting an HBCU opponent.
Shortly after, Kansas hosts UNC at Allen Fieldhouse on Friday, Nov. 8. It will be the schools’ first meeting since the 2022 NCAA championship game — which Kansas won.
The Jayhawks will play Michigan State in the Champions Classic on Tuesday, Nov. 12, in Atlanta at State Farm Arena.
Other notable games on the schedule: The Jayhawks travel to Las Vegas to play against blue blood Duke in the Vegas Showdown on Nov. 26. Big East foe Creighton will play the Jayhawks on Dec. 4 as part of the Big 12-Big East Battle.
The Jayhawks will then have another iteration of the Border War, with a matchup against Missouri in Columbia on Dec. 8, followed by a home game against NC State on Dec. 14.
