Kansas Jayhawks move up, Mizzou Tigers fall a bit in new AP Top 25 football rankings
The University of Kansas football team moved up three spots to No 19, while Missouri dropped from No. 14 to 16 and Kansas State exited the latest AP Top 25 poll on Sunday.
K-State, ranked No. 25 a week ago, fell out of the rankings after losing 33-30 at Texas in overtime on Saturday. The Wildcats, second in the “others receiving votes” category, moved to 6-3 overall, 4-2 in the Big 12.
The Jayhawks, who defeated Iowa State 28-21 on Saturday in Ames, Iowa, improved to 7-2 (4-2 Big 12). They were ranked No. 22 a week ago.
Mizzou, meanwhile, moved just outside the top 15 after falling 30-21 at top-ranked Georgia on Saturday. The Tigers are now 7-2 overall, 3-2 in the Southeastern Conference.
Missouri will play host to Tennessee at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, while K-State plays host to Baylor (2 p.m. kickoff) in Manhattan and KU faces Texas Tech at 11 a.m. in Lawrence.
Here’s the rest of this week’s poll: Georgia remains No. 1, followed by Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, Washington, Oregon, Texas, Alabama, Penn State, Mississippi, Louisville, Oregon State, Utah, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Oklahoma, LSU, Kansas, Tulane, James Madison, Notre Dame, Arizona, North Carolina and Liberty.
