Missouri Tigers surge in Top 25 AP football poll, while Kansas State receives votes
The Missouri Tigers are continuing to climb the ranks in the Associated Press Top 25 college football poll.
The Tigers (7-1, 3-1 SEC) moved up from No. 20 to No. 16 in the season’s ninth installment of the weekly AP football poll, which was released Sunday afternoon.
Mizzou dominated South Carolina 34-12 on Saturday in Columbia, Mo.
Kansas State (5-2, 3-1 Big 12), which beat TCU 41-3 on Saturday in Manhattan, Kan., received 16 votes in the “others” category.
Kansas (5-2, 2-2), which did not play this weekend, remains unranked.
The top of the newly released poll looks like this: Georgia is ranked No. 1, followed by No. 2 Michigan, No. 3 Ohio State, No. 4 Florida State, No. 5 Washington, No. 6 Oklahoma, No. 7 Texas, No. 8. Oregon, No. 9 Alabama and No. 10 Penn State.
Missouri has an open date next weekend before visiting top-ranked Georgia on Nov. 4.
K-State plays host to Big 12 Conference newcomer Houston on Saturday, while KU returns to action with a home game against sixth-ranked Oklahoma.
